Food of the week
Strawberries Strawberries are low in kilojoules and high in fibre, great for sweet or savoury dishes and wonderful on their own. Strawberries contain vitamin C, folate, potassium and small amounts of iron and may cause an allergic reaction due to their natural salicylates. Once renowned to be a summer fruit, they are now grown almost year-round in different parts of Australia, and early varieties are currently on the market. Michelle Bellamy is the Nutritionist at Wholesome Natural Health Market, located at 181 Broadway and is available for consultations by appointment on Thursday’s and Saturday’s. Please book by calling 02 9211 1171.
